Often I've heard the question asked, "why do carpets seem to get dirtier quicker after they are cleaned?" This could happen because cleaning chemicals weren't rinsed properly. But more likely what actually happens is that carpet & upholstery factory applied stain/soil protectors, which begin to wear off in time, have lost their initial effectiveness. The
number one indoor allergen source is the common household dust
mite. The average household has 2 million of them, and
60% of the mites found in homes are in our mattresses! Many of the
others are found in upholstery and carpet. We also clean mattresses using a
hypo-allergenic pre-spray and treat them with a
hypo-allergenic dust mite anti-allergen! For those with allergies it
can be very helpful to treat frequently used furniture with the anti-allergen
treatment, too. The anti-allergen we use is not a pesticide or mitacide
but is derived from fruit & vegetable seeds. The dust mite
anti-allergen we use is also effective on pet allergens.
Many carpet manufacturers' warranties require the carpet to be hot water extracted every 12 - 24 months!
It is best not to wait until carpet appears soiled before cleaning. Significant soil accumulation at the base of the carpet occurs long before it is visible at the fiber tips. Experts agree that clean carpet not only looks good and lasts longer; but also plays a significant role in the healthful state of the overall living and working environment.
